Asante Kotoko will welcome Moroccan heavyweights Wydad Athletic Club to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on October 19, as the Ghanaian giants chase a spot in the group stage of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors advanced to the final qualifying round after seeing off Nigerian side Kwara United in a thrilling two-legged affair that ended 5-3 on aggregate. Kotoko took a narrow 4-3 victory in the first leg in Accra before sealing qualification with a gritty 1-0 triumph in the reverse fixture in Abeokuta.
In a major boost for the club, reports indicate that the Baba Yara Stadium has been cleared to host the all-important clash, though official confirmation from the National Sports Authority (NSA) or the club is still pending.

The development comes as a relief to the Kotoko faithful, who will finally get the chance to watch their team play continental football on home soil after missing out earlier in the campaign. Playing in front of their passionate supporters in Kumasi could provide the extra push the Reds need against one of North Africaβs most formidable sides.
The return leg is scheduled for October 25 in Casablanca, where Wydad will look to capitalize on home advantage.
Kotoko will aim to harness their strong home record and vibrant atmosphere at Baba Yara to gain a first-leg edge before the decisive trip to Morocco.
