Bernard Somuah’s impressive rise in Spain continued on Saturday as the Ghanaian winger delivered a decisive moment to sink Real Madrid Castilla and hand Celta Vigo II a narrow but valuable victory.

The Asante Kotoko loanee wasted no time in stamping his authority on the contest, breaking the deadlock inside the opening 10 minutes. Showing great composure, Somuah brought down a delivery from the left flank before bending a precise finish beyond the Castilla goalkeeper to give the hosts an early advantage.

Celta Vigo II were forced to withstand sustained pressure thereafter, with Castilla probing for a response before the interval. However, goalkeeper Coke Carrillo stood firm, producing key saves to preserve the lead going into halftime.

The second half brought further drama when Castilla appeared to have been handed a lifeline through a penalty decision. That hope was short-lived, as VAR intervened to overturn the call, much to the relief of the home side. Celta Vigo II managed the game carefully from then on, limiting clear chances and protecting their slim margin.

Somuah’s evening ended shortly after the restart, with the winger withdrawn after 46 minutes and replaced by Álvaro Marín. Despite his early exit, his impact had already defined the match.

The goal was Somuah’s fourth of the campaign in 14 league appearances, underlining a season of growing influence and consistency for the 22-year-old. With Celta Vigo holding an option to secure his services permanently at the end of the season, the Ghanaian’s continued contributions are strengthening his bid for a long-term future in Spanish football.
