Asante Kotoko SC have been sanctioned by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after disciplinary issues marred their Ghana Premier League encounter with Medeama SC.
The GFA’s Disciplinary Committee has imposed a fine of GHS 10,000 on the Kumasi-based giants and handed them a formal warning following incidents recorded during the November 2025 fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. That match ended in a dramatic draw after Kotoko struck twice late on.
In its ruling, the GFA held Kotoko responsible for serious lapses in Matchday control, citing the club’s failure to adequately protect match officials.
The Committee further found that supporters were allowed to issue threats and physically attack officials, while unauthorized individuals gained access to restricted zones, including the players’ tunnel.

The governing body described these acts as a breach of competition regulations and stressed the club’s obligation to ensure safety and order at its home venue.
Kotoko have been given a fourteen-day window from the date of official notification to settle the fine, with the warning serving as a clear signal that stiffer penalties could follow should similar incidents occur in the future.
