Asante Kotoko midfielder Seth Kwadwo believes their recent emphatic victory over Karela United has set the perfect tone ahead of their fierce encounter with rivals Hearts of Oak in the upcoming Super Clash.
The Porcupine Warriors rediscovered their spark at the Baba Yara Stadium, cruising to a thrilling 4-2 triumph over Karela in their Matchday 8 fixture. Hubert Gyau, Joseph Ablorh, and Peter Acquah Amidu were all on target as Kotoko put behind their CAF Confederation Cup disappointment in commanding fashion.
Speaking to the press after the game, Kwadwo said the result had lifted spirits within the camp.
“It’s a massive win and it will boost our morale, and this win will motivate us going into the super clash,” he noted.

The midfielder’s optimism comes as Hearts of Oak also head into the contest in good form, having preserved their unbeaten streak with a 2-1 victory over Basake Holy Stars at the AAK Park.
The highly anticipated Super Clash, Ghana’s biggest domestic rivalry, is set for Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off slated for 15:00 GMT. All eyes will be on the capital as the two giants battle for early-season bragging rights and momentum.
