Legendary striker Asamoah Gyan has issued a stirring rallying cry to the Black Stars, urging them to give everything in their quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
With Ghana perched at the summit of Group I, holding a slim but crucial three-point advantage, the team finds itself within touching distance of another World Cup appearance. Just four points from their final two fixtures would be enough to seal passage to the tournament.
The full complement of 24 players have already assembled in Meknes, Morocco, where training sessions are in full swing as the squad sharpens up for two defining matches that could etch their names into national history.

Gyan, who remains Africa’s top scorer on the World Cup stage and a symbol of Ghanaian football excellence, called on the players to show grit, unity, and belief in finishing what they’ve started.
“We’re very close, the players have their destiny in their hands. They have done all the work and must add the finishing touch. They should go out, play their hearts out and get the win,” he told 3 Sports.
Drawing from his own experience as a former captain who led Ghana through unforgettable campaigns, Gyan reminded supporters that international football demands patience and perspective.
“The club and national team is different because at club level, players train together every day and become so familiar with themselves. When they keep playing together, the understanding will come,” he noted.
