Libyan heavyweights Al Ahly Benghazi have captured the signature of prolific Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah, sealing a deal that becomes effective immediately, the club announced on Friday.
The 23-year-old goal poacher leaves Ghana on the back of a sensational campaign that cemented his reputation as one of the most lethal finishers in the domestic league. Since arriving from Accra Great Olympics last season, Amoah has been a revelation for the Porcupine Warriors, dazzling fans with his pace, intelligence, and razor-sharp instincts in front of goal.
Amoah struck 16 goals in 30 appearances in the Ghana Premier League, finishing as Kotoko’s top scorer and one of the standout performers across the division. His dynamic attacking play and calmness under pressure turned him into a cult hero among supporters at the Baba Yara Stadium.

On the continental stage, the forward carried his fine form into Africa, netting two goals in four CAF Confederation Cup outings before Kotoko’s premature exit from the tournament. Despite the team’s struggles, his individual displays caught the attention of several suitors across North Africa and the Middle East.
Ultimately, it was Al Ahly Benghazi who won the race for his signature, moving decisively to bring the in-demand Ghanaian to Libya. The transfer marks a significant career leap for Amoah, who joins one of the most respected and successful sides in Libyan football, a club known for its passionate fan base and regular participation in CAF competitions.
