Daniel Afriyie Barnieh could not hide his delight after firing a brilliant double to guide FC Aarau past Stade Lausanne in the Swiss Challenge League on Monday night.
The Ghanaian forward struck twice in a commanding 3-0 triumph at the Stade Brugglifeld, a result that not only stretched Aarau’s unbeaten start to the campaign but also lifted them to the summit of the table.
“Plus three points. We keep going,” Barnieh wrote on social media after the victory, his joy evident following yet another decisive display.
The former Hearts of Oak captain gave the home fans plenty to cheer in the 22nd minute when he calmly slotted home the opener. After the break, he was at it again, timing his run perfectly to bury his second goal in the 63rd minute and put the contest beyond doubt.

With the visitors already reeling, Valon Fazliu added gloss to the scoreline deep into stoppage time, sealing a flawless night for the hosts.
Barnieh, who joined Aarau this summer after parting ways with FC Zurich, has now netted four goals in just five outings, showing clear signs that his scoring instincts are back in full swing. His tireless shift on the night earned him a deserved Man of the Match accolade as Aarau made it five wins from five.
