Asante Kotoko escaped a potential early FA Cup disaster on Wednesday afternoon, snatching a dramatic 2–1 comeback win against a spirited Future Stars side in their Round of 64 showdown at Okese Park.
Originally postponed due to a packed fixture calendar, the rescheduled encounter proved anything but routine for the defending champions. Future Stars, fearless and energetic from the first whistle, caught Kotoko cold, striking in the 9th minute to send shockwaves through the away end.

Though Kotoko bossed large stretches of the first half, their control failed to translate into goals, and they trudged into the break still chasing the game.
The Porcupine Warriors came out for the second half with renewed urgency. Wave after wave of pressure finally broke down the resilient hosts in the 72nd minute, when the in-form Hubert Gyau lashed home a composed finish to drag Kotoko level and tilt the contest firmly in their favour.
With the clock winding down and extra time looming, the visitors refused to settle. In the dying moments of stoppage time, winger Peter Amidu Acquah produced the moment of the match, rifling a ferocious effort beyond the goalkeeper to complete the comeback in dramatic fashion.
