Toulouse FC midfielder Abu Francis has reached an encouraging checkpoint in his road to full recovery, stepping back into the gym this week as part of the next phase of his rehabilitation.

The Ghana international has shown impressive resilience since suffering a major injury blow during the Black Stars’ friendly clash with Japan in Nagoya last month. The midfielder sustained fractures to two bones in what was described as a severe setback, prompting swift surgical intervention to stabilise the damage.

Francis came through the procedure successfully, and his return to structured gym work represents a significant leap forward in his recovery timeline. This stage focuses primarily on rebuilding strength, improving joint stability, and restoring mobility to the injured area, with Toulouse’s medical and technical teams closely supervising every session to ensure steady, safe progress.

According to the Ghana Football Association, the midfielder has responded exceptionally well to treatment. The association has frequently updated fans on his journey and continues to emphasise that the 23-year-old is recovering strongly.

The GFA, together with the Black Stars’ medical and coaching departments, also expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their unwavering support, acknowledging the “tremendous” goodwill extended toward Francis since the incident.
