Nations FC escaped with a priceless point after Emmanuel Annor struck an 85th-minute equalizer to rescue his side from what would have been their fourth loss of the campaign, settling a lively Matchday 9 curtain-raiser at the Dr. Kwame Sports Complex at 1-1.

The clash delivered almost everything the fans showed up for: tempo, tension, and two sides unafraid to trade blows. The league newcomers, Hohoe United, arrived with intent and looked nothing like a team still finding its feet. They burst out of the blocks, stitched together confident passages of play, and held their defensive line with admirable discipline.

Nations FC, despite a positive start, were the first to blink. In the 27th minute, skipper Sufian Usman whipped in a clever low delivery that sliced open the hosts’ back line, and Sena Ati applied the calmest of finishes to hand Hohoe United the lead.

The home side emerged for the second half with renewed purpose, immediately piling forward and carving out a few half-chances. Still, Hohoe United goalkeeper Kweku Musah remained largely untested as Nations FC struggled to apply the finishing touch.

But as the minutes drained away, the Eagles grew more desperate and more dangerous. Their relentless pressure finally cracked the visitors when Emmanuel Annor stepped up late on, blasting home the equalizer that kept Nations FC from slipping into deeper trouble.

Points shared.

The draw leaves Nations FC anchored in 11th on 10 points, ahead of a tricky trip to face Berekum Chelsea. Hohoe United, who also sit on 10 points but edge into 10th place, now turn their attention to a tough visit to Dreams FC.
