Ghanaian winger Yaw Yeboah has been temporarily sidelined by Major League Soccer (MLS) as the league investigates alleged violations of its regulations.

The Los Angeles FC attacker, along with Columbus Crew’s Derrick Jones, has been placed on administrative leave, effectively barring both players from training sessions and Matchday duties until the inquiry is completed.

In a formal communication, MLS confirmed the move, emphasizing that the action is precautionary while the matter undergoes further examination.

“Major League Soccer has placed Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) midfielder Yaw Yeboah and Columbus Crew midfielder Derrick Jones on administrative leave pending league review of potential violations of MLS league rules,” the statement read.

“Both players will be prohibited from participating in team activities and competition during the respective reviews.”

Yeboah, 27, switched to Los Angeles FC in January 2025 after parting ways with Columbus Crew, signing a two-year contract. Since his arrival, he has cemented his place in the team’s setup with energetic displays and decisive contributions in front of goal.

While the league has yet to reveal the specific nature of the alleged offenses, sources indicate that both players will remain unavailable until MLS concludes its internal investigation.

The development marks a significant setback for Yeboah, who had quickly become one of LAFC’s most reliable performers this season.
