Ghanaian forward Ropapa Mensah delivered a clinical performance on Thursday night, scoring twice as Chattanooga Red Wolves SC cruised to an emphatic 5-0 demolition of Richmond Kickers at CHI Memorial Stadium in the opening round of the 2026 USL League One campaign.
The prolific striker wasted little time announcing himself, striking just four minutes into the encounter. Mensah latched onto a perfectly weighted delivery from Matthew Bentley before calmly smashing a right-footed effort into the top-left corner to hand Chattanooga an early advantage.
The home side continued to pile pressure on Richmond, with Omar Gomez doubling the lead in the 11th minute as Chattanooga seized complete control of the contest from the onset.

Bentley later got his name on the scoresheet in the 49th minute after an impressive all-round display, while Omar Hernandez added a fourth in the 58th minute to cap another flowing attacking move from the hosts.
Mensah then returned to complete his brace in the 81st minute, finishing off a swift counterattack with a composed left-footed strike from inside the box after being picked out by Pedro Hernandez.
The Ghanaian attacker proved to be a constant menace throughout the evening, consistently troubling Richmond’s backline with his movement, positioning and sharp finishing. He registered seven touches inside the opponent’s penalty area and fired five shots, the joint-highest tally in the match.
With the result already beyond doubt, Mensah received a deserved ovation from the 1,274 supporters inside the stadium when he was substituted in the 86th minute for Nathan Donoho after an outstanding display.
