Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has underlined his side’s determination to secure a positive result against Wales as the Black Stars conclude their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The international friendly serves as Ghana’s final test before heading to North America for football’s biggest tournament, offering the coaching staff a crucial opportunity to evaluate the squad and fine-tune tactical plans.

Addressing reporters ahead of the clash, Queiroz emphasized that the players are eager to showcase their quality and reward supporters with a performance worthy of the national colours.

“We want to express ourselves in the game tomorrow. It is the best of our skills, efforts and commitment,” Queiroz said.

“As I said, the message is simple. We want to play great football. We want to play to win. We want to bring pride and happiness to the fans. That’s the only thing I’m sure our players have in mind.”

The Portuguese tactician highlighted the strong mentality within the camp, noting that every player has embraced the responsibility of representing the nation on the global stage.

Having worked closely with the squad during the build-up, Queiroz expressed satisfaction with the attitude and dedication displayed throughout training sessions, insisting the group is united in its ambition to deliver for Ghana:

“Being with them not for so many months, but the training sessions that I did with them, all of them are fully committed to deliver to the nation, to the flag. I’m very much confident that the message will be positive tomorrow.”

The encounter against Wales is expected to provide a stern examination for the four-time African champions as they put the finishing touches on their World Cup preparations.

With the tournament fast approaching, the Black Stars will be looking to build momentum and confidence before embarking on their campaign in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
