Jordan Ayew has underlined the importance of Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies, insisting the Black Stars are determined to deliver convincing performances against Austria and Germany.

The West African side is set to lock horns with Austria at Vienna’s iconic Ernst Happel Stadium on Friday before making the trip to Stuttgart for a high-profile encounter against four-time world champions Germany on Monday.

These fixtures are part of Ghana’s broader preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they have been drawn alongside Panama, Croatia and England in a challenging group.

Speaking to the press ahead of the double-header, Ayew emphasized that while these matches carry added weight, the team approaches every fixture with equal seriousness.

“Every game is important. Even though we know these two games are really important, previously the other games were important as well. But sometimes, it is what it is,” he said.

The Ghana captain acknowledged the level of opposition awaiting them, noting that both encounters will provide a stern examination of the squad’s readiness.

“Tomorrow is going to be a tough game, and Monday will be a tough game, so we’ll do our best,” Ayew added.

Despite the difficulty of the tests, the forward expressed confidence in the team’s current condition, highlighting the quality of their build-up.

“We are preparing really well tactically, technically and physically. We’re looking good, so let’s see what happens,” he noted.
