Veteran tactician Bashir Hayford has signaled his willingness to remain at the helm of Heart of Lions despite overseeing a bruising and deeply turbulent 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The once-resolute Dzie Woa Nu endured a season riddled with instability, inconsistency and mounting pressure, spending vast stretches of the second round nervously glancing over their shoulders in a desperate bid to avoid being swallowed by the relegation battle.

Any lingering frustrations among supporters intensified on Sunday when the Kpando-based side were ruthlessly dismantled 5-2 by newly crowned champions Medeama SC in a chaotic and humiliating penultimate fixture that further exposed the club’s defensive frailties.

Yet even amid the wreckage of a disappointing campaign, Hayford struck a calm and reflective tone when quizzed about his future after the match.

“That’s the question we have to ask God. I wish. If God gives me the grace, why not?” Hayford said.

The experienced manager, renowned for his fiery touchline demeanor and decades of domestic football experience, insisted the club’s struggles could become the foundation for a stronger resurgence next season.

“We have learned a lesson, and we will make sure we improve,” he added.

Despite the grim campaign, Hayford’s remarks suggest he still believes the Lions possess the character and potential to rebuild from adversity and restore the club’s competitive edge in the upcoming season.
