Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi has taken another significant step in his fast-rising career after being shortlisted for the 2025/26 Danish Superliga Player of the Season award.

The highly-rated youngster has been recognised for his exceptional performances with FC Nordsjælland, earning a place among eight standout performers nominated for one of the league’s most prestigious individual accolades.

Yirenkyi’s inclusion on the shortlist underlines the remarkable progress he has made since establishing himself in Nordsjælland’s senior setup. The dynamic midfielder has become one of the most exciting young talents in Denmark, impressing with his intelligence on the ball, relentless work rate and calmness under pressure.

His consistency and influence in midfield have made him an indispensable figure for Nordsjælland throughout the campaign.

The 20-year-old has featured in 28 league matches this season, registering two goals and eight assists while playing a crucial role in the club’s push for a strong finish in the Danish top flight.

Yirenkyi shines at the back, clinches MOTM in Nordsjaelland stalemate

His performances have not only attracted attention within Denmark but have also strengthened calls for his involvement in Ghana’s senior national team setup ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Yirenkyi faces stiff competition for the award, with fellow nominees including Tobias Bech, Tonni Adamsen, Thomas Jørgensen, Franculino Djú, Gift Links, Patrick Pentz and Aral Şimşir.

The nomination represents yet another milestone in what is shaping into a hugely promising European journey for the gifted midfielder, whose reputation continues to soar with every passing season.
