Ghana international Augustine Boakye has pledged his full commitment to the Black Stars as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing his inclusion in the squad as the realization of a lifelong dream.

The talented midfielder, who rose through the ranks at WAFA SC, earned a place in Carlos Queiroz’s final 26-man roster for football’s biggest tournament and is now eager to make his mark on the global stage.

With the World Cup kick-off just a week away, Boakye reflected on the significance of representing Ghana at such a prestigious event, emphasizing the pride and responsibility that comes with wearing the national team jersey.

“Privileged to receive my first call-up to serve my country at the #FIFAWorldCup. A moment I’ve worked for my entire life. Thanks to my family, Ghana, coaches, teammates, and everyone who has supported my journey. Now it’s time to give everything for the nation,” Augustine Boakye shared in a post on X.

The call-up marks a major milestone in the midfielder’s career and rewards his steady rise in recent years. While he enters the tournament as one of the less experienced members of the squad, Boakye is viewed as a player capable of providing energy, creativity, and depth in midfield.

His potential importance to Ghana has grown further following the absence of influential attacker Mohamed Kudus, creating opportunities for other players to step forward and shoulder greater responsibility.

As the Black Stars gear up for their World Cup campaign, Boakye is determined to seize the opportunity and contribute to Ghana’s quest for success on football’s grandest stage.
