Ghanaian striker Prince Adu produced an eye-catching display to help Viktoria Plzeň grind out a resilient 0-0 draw against table-toppers Slavia Prague, announcing his return to form in emphatic fashion.
Handed his first start in over a month, the 22-year-old looked rejuvenated from the outset, sharp in movement, confident on the ball, and constantly probing for openings. A far cry from his previous outing against Zlín, Adu emerged as Plzeň’s primary attacking outlet and a persistent threat to Slavia’s backline.
Despite failing to find the net, his performance did not go unnoticed. Head coach Martin Hysky was quick to single him out after the match, emphasizing both his talent and growing importance to the squad.
“We all know what he is capable of. He’s a game-changing player who can rise to big occasions,” Hysky said after the match. “He was one of our most dangerous players today. It’s just unfortunate he couldn’t convert his chance after a great individual run.”

Adu’s upturn in form appears closely tied to his recent spell with Ghana’s national team, where he featured in two international friendlies. That experience, according to Hysky, has elevated his mindset and performance level.
“After returning, I saw a different player,” he noted. “He has a big ambition: to represent Ghana at the World Cup. If he continues like this, he will be very important for us for the rest of the season.”
While Adu spearheaded Plzeň’s attacking efforts, the team’s defensive discipline proved equally vital. Their organized backline stood firm under pressure, frustrating Slavia Prague and ensuring the visitors left with a valuable point.
As the season edges toward its decisive phase, Plzeň remain firmly in contention, and with Adu rediscovering his rhythm, they may have gained a crucial boost at just the right time.
