Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has completed a season-long loan move to French club Nice from Rennes, according to Footy-Africa.
The 26-year-old joins Nice without an option to buy after the club moved for the defender to bolster their back line following a series of injuries, including Antoine Mendy’s ACL injury.
Seidu had fallen out of favour at Rennes and had been training away from the first team while awaiting a transfer. Although he was later brought back into group training and registered for the Europa League, a move away from the club had already been agreed.
Marseille and Strasbourg were also interested, with Strasbourg reportedly agreeing personal terms before failing to meet Rennes’ €10m valuation.
Seidu, who is under contract with Rennes until 2029, will now look to secure regular first-team football and revive his season at Nice.
