Alexander Djiku believes Kojo Peprah Oppong possesses the technical attributes to make a significant impression at Fenerbahce, describing his compatriot as a modern centre-back with the athleticism and composure required at the highest level.
Peprah has completed his move to the Turkish giants from OGC Nice after a breakthrough campaign in Ligue 1, where his performances earned him recognition as one of the standout members of the French club’s defensive unit.
For Djiku, who knows Turkish football intimately from his own spell in Istanbul, Peprah’s ability to remain assured in possession could be particularly valuable as he begins a new chapter with Fenerbahçe.
“Of course, I know Kojo Peprah Oppong,” Djiku said. “He’s a good player. He had a really good season at Nice and was one of the team’s best players. He’s an athletic centre-back, and he’s also very good with the ball,” Djiku told Fanatik.
That blend of physical power and technical proficiency has become increasingly important for elite defenders, with centre-backs now expected to do far more than simply repel attacks.

Having already established himself in France, Peprah now faces the challenge of adapting to the demands and intensity of a club where expectations are considerably higher.
Yet Djiku believes the move provides the young defender with an ideal environment in which to continue his development.
“He’s still young, so he has plenty of room to develop, and I’m sure he’ll learn a lot at Fenerbahçe,” Djiku added. “I think he’s a very good signing for the club.”
Djiku’s connection with Fenerbahçe also gives his endorsement added significance. His own experience in Istanbul left him with strong memories of the club and its supporters, and he was quick to offer words of encouragement to Peprah as he embarks on his Turkish adventure.
