Ghana’s national team is keeping a watchful eye on developments in London after Mohammed Kudus was sidelined with a thigh injury that could rule him out for several weeks at Tottenham Hotspur.

The dynamic attacker picked up the problem earlier this month during Spurs’ home encounter with Sunderland. What initially appeared to be a minor knock quickly escalated into a more troubling issue, forcing Kudus off the pitch after only 19 minutes.

Subsequent medical checks have since confirmed the injury is more severe than first anticipated, with reports from England suggesting an extended period of recovery.

The situation has raised concern within the Black Stars camp, particularly for head coach Otto Addo and his technical staff, as Ghana edges closer to a demanding international calendar. One immediate fixture on the horizon is a high-profile friendly against Germany in March, part of Ghana’s broader preparations for future tournaments.

Beyond the friendly, Kudus is widely viewed as a central figure in Ghana’s ambitions for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Black Stars have been placed in Group L and are set to take on Croatia and Panama in June. With his proven match-winning ability and growing influence, Kudus’ availability is seen as crucial to Ghana’s campaign.

At club level, the former Ajax man has been a cornerstone of Tottenham’s attack this season. His pace, directness, and creativity have made him a regular starter, and his absence has been keenly felt as Spurs grapple with mounting attacking concerns.

The injury has also fueled speculation that the North London side could look to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.

Kudus sets sights on silverware in ambitious Tottenham spell

Ghanaian football authorities are understood to be maintaining close communication with Tottenham’s medical team as they track Kudus’ rehabilitation. While caution remains the priority, there is optimism that he can recover in time to play a meaningful role for both club and country later in the year.
