Ghanaian native and central midfielder Prince Afriyie has completed a move and subsequently been unveiled at Greek side PAOK Saloniki, and will feature for the B team in the forthcoming campaign.
The 19-year-old, who can also play as a right-back, has joined from Malta top-flight outfit Mosta FC on a season-long loan with an option to buy, Greek club confirmed.
On putting pen to paper, the youngster was quick to take to his social media handles to express his satisfaction on joining the Greek outfit.
“I am absolutely thrilled and deeply grateful to be joining PAOK! This is a dream come true and I thank everyone who played a part to make it happen. From the coaches and management who showed faith in me, to my family, friends, mentors every step of the way, I owe you all so much. I’m incredibly excited about this new chapter and can’t wait to give my absolute best on the field, contribute to the team’s success and make the fans happy,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
Afriyie joined Mosta at the start of last season and became a key part of the Blues, accumulating 28 appearances, scoring three goals, and providing four assists.
Internationally, the budding midfielder has yet to receive a summon to Ghana’s senior national team, The Black Stars. He has, however, previously played for his country’s U17 team.
