Semper Fi assistant coach Moses Adjin-Tettey has drawn positives from his side’s opening-day stalemate with True Democracy and believes the lessons from that encounter will sharpen them for their upcoming clash with Accra Lions.
The Division One League Zone III campaign kicked off with Semper Fi sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw on Sunday. Despite the missed opportunity to snatch all three points, Adjin-Tettey felt his players showed the right spirit in a demanding contest.
“It was a game which we expected it to be. A tough game, high intensity, high-level football,” he reflected. “Unfortunately, we had the chance to take the three points, but one or two players were off tactically, then the opponent had a few minutes of dominance and equalised. We had chances but couldn’t capitalise, and the game ended in a draw.”

With eyes now firmly set on the next fixture, the assistant coach acknowledged that Accra Lions will provide a sterner test but maintained that his squad has what it takes to rise to the occasion.
“The next game is going to be a tough one. Accra Lions is not an easy opponent; it is always a tactical game. But if we do our adjustments well and learn from this game, we can prepare properly and win,” he insisted.
Semper Fi’s preparations will therefore focus on fine-tuning tactical details and sharpening their efficiency in front of goal as they look to claim a statement result against one of the division’s strongest sides.
