Medeama SC vs Bechem United

Medeama SC walked off the pitch at Tarkwa on Sunday with a familiar feeling, control without reward. The league leaders dominated Bechem United from start to finish, dictating tempo and pinning their opponents deep, yet somehow failed to find the breakthrough as the match ended in a frustrating 0–0 stalemate.

Despite the disappointment, head coach Ibrahim Tanko cut a calm figure as he assessed the contest. While his side enjoyed long spells of possession and carved out openings, their finishing deserted them at crucial moments. Tanko, however, was quick to credit the visiting Hunters for executing a well-organised, stubborn defensive plan.

“We had most of the ball, but I think the last bite was not there. Bechem came with a plan, they played with all men behind the ball and countered well. We lacked patience in finishing our build-up, but they did very well, and one point is better than none,” he said to the press.

Bechem’s disciplined setup forced Medeama to recycle play repeatedly, and although the hosts probed and pressed, they couldn’t find the killer touch that has defined their season so far.

Still perched at the top of the Ghana Premier League table with 22 points, Medeama remain in command, but only just. With their closest challengers gaining momentum, Tanko’s men know they must rediscover their cutting edge quickly to keep the title charge steady.
