Wales will host Ghana in a landmark international friendly at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, with kick-off time yet to be confirmed.
The encounter will represent a historic first meeting between the two nations at senior men’s level and will also be the first time Wales welcomes an African national team to play on its soil.
Craig Bellamy’s side will face a formidable Ghana squad packed with attacking quality, including Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams and Mohammed Kudus, all expected to feature for the Black Stars.
Ghana head into the match already assured of their place at the upcoming FIFA World Cup, where they have been drawn into a challenging group alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
For Wales, the fixture will mark only their second-ever game against an African opponent in the men’s international game.

Their previous and only such meeting dates back to June 1998 in Tunis, a match that interestingly featured current Wales head coach Craig Bellamy during his playing days.
Wales’ own hopes of competing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America remain uncertain and will be determined by the outcome of the upcoming play-off pathway later this month. Bellamy’s team is scheduled to face Bosnia & Herzegovina on Thursday, March 26. Victory in that clash would see them advance to a decisive play-off final against either Italy or Northern Ireland on Tuesday, March 31.
Meanwhile, Ghana are intensifying their preparations ahead of the global tournament. In addition to the Wales fixture, the Black Stars have already lined up a series of high-profile friendlies against Austria, Germany and Mexico as part of their build-up.
The Cardiff meeting is expected to offer Ghana head coach Otto Addo another valuable opportunity to fine-tune his squad before the World Cup kicks off across Canada, Mexico and the United States.
