Buriram United turned their home turf into a playground on Tuesday night, tearing apart DH Cebu FC with a ruthless 6–0 demolition in Round 5 of the ASEAN Club Championship.

At the heart of the carnage was German-born Ghanaian international Kingsley Schindler, who produced a performance dripping with class, craft and cold-blooded efficiency.

The Black Stars full-back was everywhere for the Thunder Castles, clocking the full 90 minutes and leaving his fingerprints all over the scoreline with a goal and two assists in a display that screamed man-of-the-match.

Cebu simply couldn’t live with his energy down the flank, as Buriram tore them open time and again.

The hosts set the tone early. Schindler unlocked the defence in the 18th minute with a perfectly weighted assist for Sandy Walsh to break the deadlock. Thirteen minutes later, Buriram doubled their advantage through Serbian midfielder Goran Čaušic, tightening their grip on the contest.

Moments after the second, Schindler decided to get in on the scoring act himself, calmly finishing off a sweeping move to make it three. And just before the interval, he was at it again, this time floating in a delicious delivery for Phitiwat, who nodded home to send Buriram into the break with the game already beyond Cebu’s reach.

The second half offered no mercy. Nathakorn Rattanasuwan came off the bench to rub salt into the wounds, firing in a brace to complete a six-goal blitz that left the visitors shell-shocked.

Schindler wasn’t the only Ghanaian enjoying the night. His compatriot Emmanuel Toku featured for an hour, as Buriram underlined their dominance in Group A, sitting pretty at the summit with nine points from five matches.

With momentum firmly on their side, both players will be eyeing fresh starts when Buriram shift focus to continental action against Chengdu Rongchen in the AFC Champions League Elite.
