Joseph Paintsil delivered a statement performance as LA Galaxy clawed back from a two-goal deficit to earn a dramatic 2-2 draw against FC Dallas in Saturday night’s MLS clash.
The Ghana international, returning to the starting XI after a spell on the sidelines, played a decisive role in both goals, registering his first goal and assist of the 2026 campaign in a display that reignited Galaxy’s attacking spark.

At Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, the hosts surged into early control through Petar Musa, who struck twice inside the opening 38 minutes. His clinical finishes in the 7th and 38th minutes handed Dallas what looked like a comfortable cushion and left the visitors chasing the game.
But just before the interval, the momentum shifted sharply.
Paintsil sparked the revival in the 43rd minute, slipping a precise pass into the path of Lucas Sanabria, who calmly reduced the deficit with a tidy finish. The goal injected belief into the Galaxy side, and they capitalized almost immediately.
Deep into first-half stoppage time, Paintsil turned scorer. Timing his run perfectly, he met a well-weighted through ball from Gabriel Pec and fired past the goalkeeper to restore parity before the break.
The 26-year-old’s influence proved pivotal, not only salvaging a point but also extending Galaxy’s remarkable scoring run to 17 straight MLS matches, the longest active streak in the league.

Having missed seven games due to injury since early March, Paintsil’s return could not have been better timed, offering a major boost to Galaxy’s attacking options moving forward.
Elsewhere, Ghanaian defender Lalas Abubakar remained on the bench for Dallas and did not feature.
The result leaves LA Galaxy with nine points from eight matches, while FC Dallas climb to 13 points after six outings in what is shaping up to be a tightly contested MLS campaign.
