Medeama SC wrapped up their outstanding 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign in style after edging Basake Holy Stars 2-1 in a festive coronation showdown on Wednesday night at the TnA Stadium.
The Tarkwa giants, who had already clinched the league crown weeks ago with an emphatic 5-2 demolition of Heart of Lions, capped off the season with another spirited display in front of a jubilant home crowd.
Having completed their final away assignment against Hearts of Oak in Accra, the Yellow and Mauves returned to Tarkwa for a grand celebration organised in honour of their title-winning feat. Thousands of fans packed the TnA Stadium, creating a carnival-like atmosphere as the newly crowned champions took to the pitch one last time this season.
Holy Stars, however, proved far from pushovers and matched Medeama’s intensity for large spells of the contest. Both sides produced an entertaining first-half battle, but neither could gain a decisive advantage before the break as the teams headed into halftime level.

Medeama emerged from the dressing room with renewed purpose and gradually took control of proceedings in the second half. Their attacking pressure eventually paid off as Derrick Fodjour struck the decisive goal to hand the champions a deserved 2-1 victory.
The win provided the perfect ending to a memorable campaign for Medeama, who celebrated their league success in front of their supporters with yet another impressive performance.
