Viktoria Plzeň head coach Martin Hysky has thrown his full support behind striker Prince Kwabena Adu, insisting the young forward has what it takes to earn a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 22-year-old attacker has looked revitalized since returning from international duty with the Black Stars, where he featured in recent high-profile friendlies against Austria and Germany.

His resurgence was evident on Saturday, April 11, 2026, when he delivered an energetic and threatening display in Plzeň’s tense goalless stalemate against league leaders Slavia Prague.

Making his first start in over a month, Adu brought urgency and confidence to Plzeň’s frontline. He consistently troubled the opposition defense with his movement and directness, standing out as one of his side’s most potent attacking outlets throughout the contest.

The performance marked a sharp contrast to his previous outing in the defeat to Zlín, underlining his growing consistency and mental response after setbacks.

Speaking after the match, Hysky did not hide his admiration for the Ghanaian forward’s qualities and potential impact.

“We all know what he is capable of. He’s a game-changing player who can rise to big occasions,” Hyský said after the match.

“He was one of our most dangerous players today. It’s just unfortunate he couldn’t convert his chance after a great individual run.”

The Plzeň boss also pointed to a noticeable shift in Adu’s mindset since his return from international duty, highlighting his ambition to represent Ghana on the biggest stage.

“After returning, I saw a different player. He has a big ambition: to represent Ghana at the World Cup. If he continues like this, he will be very important for us for the rest of the season.”

Adu has found the net six times in 23 league appearances this campaign, and with his confidence steadily building, he appears to be hitting form at a crucial stage of the season, for both club and country.
