Ghana international Kwasi Sibo has revealed that his family is strongly advocating for a move to the Saudi Pro League as he weighs up his next career move following the expiration of his contract with Spanish outfit Real Oviedo.

The 28-year-old midfielder is one of the notable free agents on the market after bringing his spell in Spain to an end, attracting attention from clubs across multiple leagues ahead of the new season.

Sibo enhanced his reputation with a series of accomplished displays for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he established himself alongside Thomas Partey in the heart of midfield. His performances were instrumental in the Black Stars’ run to the Round of 32 before their campaign was halted by Colombia.

Despite attracting interest from some of Europe’s leading football markets, the midfielder admits his family has made no secret of where they would like him to continue his career.

“So far I have had offers from England, Germany, and Saudi Arabia as well. My family wants me to go to Saudi; they don’t want to hear about the other countries. One of my relatives is very keen about it,” Sibo said in an interview with Kumasi-based Lawson TV.

The former Real Oviedo midfielder acknowledged that his relatives have become vocal supporters of a switch to Saudi Arabia, where the league’s growing financial power and ambitious recruitment drive continue to lure established international players.

For now, however, Sibo insists no final decision has been reached. The Ghanaian is carefully assessing his options as interest continues to build from several clubs, with English Championship side Hull City, Greek heavyweights PAOK, Saudi Pro League outfit Al Qadsiah, and other suitors all understood to be monitoring his situation.
