Ghanaian striker Ibrahim Mustapha came back to haunt his former club Red Star Belgrade, firing Vojvodina Novi Sad to a thrilling comeback win in the Serbian SuperLiga.

Facing the club where he spent nearly four years, Mustapha sparked a remarkable turnaround after Vojvodina trailed 2–0 at the break. Red Star looked in complete control early on, with Aleksandar Katai and Mirko Ivanic netting within three first-half minutes to give the visitors a commanding lead.

But Mustapha had other ideas. Just seven minutes into the second half, the Tamale-born attacker pounced to halve the deficit and breathe new life into the contest. His strike set the tone for a dominant second-half surge from the home side, who refused to back down against the Serbian giants.

Vojvodina’s persistence paid off as Lazar Randelovic restored parity in the 77th minute, before Milan Kolarevic completed the comeback deep into stoppage time with a dramatic 92nd-minute winner, sending the home crowd into raptures.

The result marks a particularly sweet moment for Mustapha, who rejoined the Serbian top flight this summer after a spell with Austrian outfit LASK Linz.

He has now found the net once in six league appearances this season, continuing to build form and confidence in his second stint in Serbia.
