Prince Owusu’s impressive rise in North America has not gone unnoticed in Europe, as according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Ghanaian forward is now attracting concrete interest from German Bundesliga sides Mainz and Wolfsburg following a standout MLS campaign with CF Montréal.

At 28, Owusu appears ready for a new challenge. His 2024 season in the MLS was his most productive yet, finishing with 13 goals and three assists, numbers that have placed him firmly on the radar of German top-flight clubs searching for a proven, physical, and intelligent striker.

Owusu is said to be open to a winter move, with conversations expected to intensify in the coming weeks. Montréal reportedly value him at around €2–3 million, and with his contract running until December 2026, the club is in a strong negotiating position. Even so, a Bundesliga return, after earlier spells in Germany, could be too big an opportunity for the player to turn down.

Above all, Owusu has one major ambition driving his next step: securing a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A move to a top European league, especially the Bundesliga, would significantly strengthen his case as he looks to convince Black Stars selectors.

With interest growing and the winter window approaching, Owusu may be heading for one of the biggest moves of his career, one that could redefine his international prospects and reignite his European journey.
