Bologna FC have quietly surged ahead in the race for Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Addai, striking a pre-agreement with the player as they position themselves for a summer swoop.
According to sources close to Footy-Africa, the Italian outfit have already laid the groundwork with Addai, though the deal still hinges on final talks with his current club, Qarabag FK.
The 23-year-old attacker is entering the final stretch of his contract, which expires in June, a situation that has handed Bologna a clear strategic advantage. While Addai could technically walk away for free, Bologna are not leaving anything to chance.

The Serie A side have accelerated negotiations to outmaneuver a cluster of interested clubs, notably Le Havre AC, Rayo Vallecano, and Viktoria Plzen, all of whom had been monitoring the winger closely.
There are indications Bologna may still table a modest transfer fee to Qarabag to fast-track the move and eliminate the risk of late bidding competition. Any such figure is expected to come in below Addai’s reported €1.5 million valuation.
Since arriving at Qarabag in 2024, Addai has steadily built his reputation, amassing more than 80 appearances while registering 11 goals and six assists. His explosive speed, willingness to take on defenders, and ability to operate across multiple attacking roles have made him a standout prospect.
Should the transfer be finalized, Addai would join a growing list of Ghanaian talents making their mark in Italy, as Bologna continue to refine their squad with an eye on strengthening their offensive depth for the upcoming campaign.
