Ghanaian forward Paul Ayongo announced his arrival in style, netting his maiden goal in the Armenian Premier League to hand Ararat-Armenia a dramatic 2–1 comeback victory over BKMA on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
With the game finely balanced and time running out, Ayongo, introduced midway through the second half, struck decisively in the 87th minute, sending the home supporters into raptures as Ararat-Armenia snatched all three points in Yerevan.
Earlier, the visitors had drawn first blood through Grenik Petrosyan in the 17th minute, capitalizing on a rare lapse in the hosts’ defence. But Ararat-Armenia responded immediately after the interval, as Argishti Petrosyan’s own goal in the 47th minute levelled proceedings and shifted momentum in favour of the title hopefuls.

Coach Vardan Minasyan’s men kept pressing, and their persistence finally paid off when Ayongo latched onto a clever pass inside the box and coolly finished past the goalkeeper to seal a hard-fought win.
The result strengthens Ararat-Armenia’s pursuit of the league crown, they now sit second on the table after 11 rounds, just one point adrift of leaders Alashkert, with a game still in hand.
It was a moment to savour for Ayongo, who has gradually worked his way into the team since joining this season, and his decisive goal could mark the start of a fruitful run for both player and club.
