Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has thrown his weight behind Kwasi Sibo, insisting the Real Oviedo man has what it takes to grow into one of the standout names for the Black Stars.

Sibo, 25, was handed his senior international debut earlier this month when Ghana hosted Mali in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium. The combative midfielder turned heads with a calm yet commanding display as the Black Stars ground out a 1-0 victory over the Eagles.

His performance won admiration across the football fraternity, and Agyemang Badu, himself a World Cup campaigner and U-20 World Cup winner, believes Sibo has the attributes to become a reliable figure for Ghana in the years ahead.

Kwasi Sibo vows to push harder after shining in Black Stars debut

“Sibo is a very solid player with a lot of promise,” Agyemand-Badu told Graphic Sports. “Honestly, he can’t match the power and energy I brought to the team in my time,” he joked, “But he has qualities that suit the modern game.

“I like his composure, ball distribution and discipline. With the right guidance, he can become a big name for the Black Stars,” he added.

The midfielder’s rise has not been limited to the national team. After playing a central role in Real Oviedo’s promotion push last season, Sibo has quickly established himself as an important figure in the Spanish La Liga, already making three appearances in the current campaign.
