Ghana’s all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan, has tipped his hat to youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku after the Leicester City forward paid homage to him with a nostalgic celebration in the English Championship.

The 21-year-old winger delivered a stunning match-winner against Charlton Athletic at The Valley, curling the ball beautifully into the net before breaking into Gyan’s legendary 2010 World Cup dance routine.

Charlton boss: Fatawu Issahaku too good for the Championship

Issahaku later amplified the moment by posting the celebration on social media, sound tracked with Gyan’s hit collaboration with the late Castro de Destroyer. The post quickly went viral, sparking excitement among fans and drawing a warm reaction from Gyan himself.

Under the video, the former Black Stars captain simply wrote: “Legacy, my legend.”

The ex-Sunderland striker’s trademark dance became a global talking point during his playing days, and seeing Issahaku recreate it in England brought back fond memories for many Ghanaian football lovers.

Having just returned from an ACL setback, Issahaku is eager to make up for lost time. His latest strike makes it one goal in three Championship appearances this season as Leicester chase an immediate return to the Premier League.
