English-Ghanaian forward Daniel Adu Adjei delivered another standout performance as HNK Rijeka cruised to a convincing 3-0 triumph against Vukovar 91 at Stadion HNK Rijeka.
The in-form attacker broke the deadlock late in the opening half, timing his run perfectly to meet Mladen Devetak’s driven cross before calmly guiding his finish beyond the goalkeeper in the 41st minute.
Adu Adjei proved a nightmare for the visitors all evening, constantly finding dangerous spaces in the final third and tormenting the Vukovar defence with his sharp movement and direct attacking play. The forward recorded the highest number of touches inside the opposition penalty area with nine and also led all players with five attempts on goal.
Rijeka maintained their momentum after the interval and doubled their advantage through Stjepan Radeljic, who rose to convert a well-worked delivery from Justas Lasickas early in the second half.
The hosts continued to dominate proceedings, controlling possession and creating chances at will, before substitute Toni Fruk added a late third in stoppage time following another assist from the influential Devetak.

Rijeka’s superiority was reflected in the numbers, with the home side outshooting Vukovar 17-7 while restricting the visitors to just one shot on target throughout the contest.
The latest strike sees Adu Adjei move to six goals and three assists in 25 HNL appearances this season, further cementing his importance in Rijeka’s attacking setup.
Attention now shifts to Wednesday’s heavyweight Croatian Cup showdown, where Rijeka travel to face rivals Dinamo Zagreb in a crucial encounter on May 13.
