Brandon Thomas-Asante once again underlined his growing importance with a composed finish, helping Coventry City secure a 3-1 triumph over Wrexham A.F.C. on Sunday afternoon.

The Ghanaian forward was handed a starting role for the Matchday 45 clash at the Coventry Building Society Arena, and he wasted little time in making his presence felt.

Although the encounter held minimal stakes for the hosts, Coventry played with intent from the outset, dictating the tempo and asking early questions of Wrexham’s defence. Their positive approach paid off in the 19th minute through a well-crafted move down the flank.

Ephron Mason-Clark produced a moment of quality, gliding past his marker before delivering a teasing cross toward the back post. Thomas-Asante read it perfectly, holding his run to beat the offside trap before guiding a controlled finish beyond the goalkeeper.

Wrexham, however, showed resilience and responded swiftly. Just six minutes later, Oliver Rathbone capitalised on a spell of pressure to restore parity, ensuring the sides went into the interval level after an open first half.

Following the restart, Coventry reasserted their authority, managing possession better and creating more purposeful openings in the final third. As the match edged toward its conclusion, their persistence finally told.

Inside the final ten minutes, Victor Torp fired the hosts back in front, before Mason-Clark capped an outstanding display by adding a late third to put the result beyond doubt.

Thomas-Asante’s contribution not only set the tone for the victory but also reinforced his growing reputation as a reliable attacking outlet. His consistent output will certainly strengthen his push for a place in Ghana national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The striker has quietly become a central figure in Coventry’s campaign, playing a decisive role in their drive toward promotion and offering a constant threat in the final third.
