Felix Afena-Gyan believes his move to Amedspor could mark the turning point in his career as he looks to rediscover the form that once made him one of Ghana’s brightest attacking prospects.
The 22-year-old forward has joined the Turkish second-tier side on loan from Italian club Cremonese until the end of the season, with an option for a permanent deal.
Speaking to the club at his unveiling on Wednesday, Afena-Gyan was upbeat about the new chapter ahead of him.
“This is a good place to step up and get back to my best,” he said, underlining his hunger to make an impact in Turkey.
Since leaving AS Roma in 2022, the striker’s journey has been challenging. At Cremonese, he featured 23 times in Serie A during his debut season, starting just eight games. Hopes of progress were then stalled by injuries, including a fracture that sidelined him for much of last year’s Serie B campaign.

A loan stint with Juventus Next Gen in Italy’s Serie C last season, however, offered a glimpse of his potential, as he netted 10 goals in 30 outings.
Now at Amedspor, Afena-Gyan is banking on regular playing time and a fresh environment to reignite his career trajectory and reestablish himself as a force in European football.
