Former Bournemouth goalkeeper Ionuț Radu has expressed admiration for Antoine Semenyo, stating that the Ghana international’s impressive progress in the Premier League has come as little surprise to him.

Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, the forward has quickly settled into life under manager Pep Guardiola, making an immediate impact with a string of standout performances.

The Black Stars attacker has already registered seven goals and two assists in just 12 appearances for the reigning champions. His prolific form has also taken his overall Premier League tally to 15 goals this season, underlining his growing importance to the team.
Radu, who previously shared a dressing room with Semenyo during his spell at Bournemouth before departing for RC Celta de Vigo, recalled that the striker’s potential was evident from the very beginning.
“On my first day in Bournemouth, I told my family he was the best player I’d ever seen. I also told them he was going to be the biggest sale the club would ever make, and that happened. He’s an incredible player, strength, technique, everything. He’s very good, I respect him a lot,” Radu said.
Semenyo’s blistering form has also earned him individual recognition, with the Ghanaian forward shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Month award for February, a nomination that reflects his growing influence at Manchester City and his continuing rise among the league’s top performers.
