Danish Superliga outfit Vejle Boldklub have pulled off a significant youth recruitment coup, completing the signing of highly-rated Ghanaian teenager Ransford Amoo from Division Two side True Life Football Academy on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The promising forward, who officially turns 18 on January 20, committed his future to the Danish club earlier today after successfully undergoing formalities at Vejle’s training base in Denmark. His arrival comes after Vejle fended off strong interest from German giants Schalke 04 and Spanish club Leganés, both of whom were keen on luring the teenage prospect during the current winter transfer window.
Vejle Boldklub confirmed the acquisition in an official statement, underlining both the player’s versatility and his international pedigree:
“On his 18th birthday, Ransford Amoo has signed a contract with Vejle Boldklub until the summer of 2030. The Ghanaian, who can play the three front positions and has been involved with the Ghanaian U21 national team, has been brought in from True Life FC in his home country on a permanent transfer.”
Speaking after putting pen to paper on his first professional contract, an elated Amoo expressed his excitement and confidence in the project laid out by his new club:
“l am really happy about my first professional contract, and that it is with Vejle Boldklub. I have been faced with a big choice for my career, and there have been several opportunities for me, but with the development plan and the sporting set-up that I have been presented with here at the club, it was not a difficult choice. During my stay here in Vejle, I have received a thorough introduction to the way the club works and to how the coaches see me playing a role.”

Despite his tender age, the Ghanaian attacker is fully aware of the challenge ahead but remains unfazed, drawing inspiration from fellow youngsters already trusted at the club:
“I know that I will be one of the youngest players to join the first team, but I have great faith in myself, and I look for inspiration in Bismark and Camara, who are the same age as me, but who have still been given the chance because they have shown themselves well. I know that my path will be seen if I deserve it, and the thought of being able to play at Vejle Stadium is a great motivation for me. My chance will come if I show what I can do. Being able to sign with Vejle Boldklub today is the perfect birthday present.”
Vejle’s sporting director Mikkel Hemmersam also shared his enthusiasm about the club’s latest addition, highlighting Amoo’s technical qualities and long-term potential:
“Ransford Amoo is a young offensive player who, in terms of his skills and expression, fits very well into the way we want to play football here at Vejle Boldklub. He has some exciting 1:1 skills, he can go both ways with both feet, and he has speed that makes him a threat in the back room both with and without the ball, begins.
Ransford has recently been visiting Vejle, where he has been able to show himself in our environment. That stay has only confirmed the view we already had that he has an interesting package, and that we believe that Vejle Boldklub has the right framework for him to be able to unleash his talent here at the club.”

Throughout his youth, Ransford has been used to playing one year older, and the fact that despite his young age he has also been to a training camp with Ghana’s U21 national team also testifies to a talent with a certain maturity. He is a player whose potential we are convinced of, but who also requires time. We are taking that time, and a good plan has been laid out for Ransford in both the short and long term, and we are happy that he is now part of the team.”
As part of his integration into the club, Amoo is expected to link up with the Vejle Boldklub first-team squad for their upcoming training camp in Cyprus, where he will begin adapting to the demands of top-flight European football.
