Ghanaian youth international Kelvin Lamptey-Mills has taken a significant step in his European journey, sealing a move to Greek Super League 2 side Kampaniakos FC after parting ways with Cypriot outfit MEAP Nisou.
The highly rated 20-year-old centre back joins Kampaniakos as a free agent, following successful negotiations concluded over the weekend. He has committed to a one-year contract, which includes an option for extension, a structure carefully aligned with his long-term career progression.
Lamptey-Mills turned down the opportunity to renew his stay in Cyprus, opting instead for a fresh challenge in Greece as he looks to reignite his upward trajectory. His deal is set to run until the winter of the 2026/27 season, offering him a valuable platform to reassert himself on the European stage.
Despite enjoying a promising spell at MEAP Nisou, the young defender’s momentum was interrupted by injury, a setback he is now eager to put firmly behind him. The move to Kampaniakos presents a timely opportunity for the Ghana U-20 international to rediscover his best form and consistency.
With prior experience in both the MLS and the Cypriot league, Lamptey-Mills arrives in Greece with a maturity beyond his years and is widely expected to grow into a central figure in Kampaniakos’ defensive unit. The club’s technical team believes his blend of athleticism, composure and tactical awareness will prove invaluable as the season reaches a decisive phase.
Head coach Apostolos Charalampidis praised Kelvin’s addition to the team, his professionalism and believes his leadership and quality will benefit the team during a crucial stage of the season.
On the international front, Lamptey-Mills was part of the Ghana Black Satellites squad that secured a third-place finish at the WAFU Zone B tournament held in Ghana in June 2025, further underlining his pedigree at youth level.
As he embarks on this new Greek adventure, Lamptey-Mills is widely tipped to play a key role in Kampaniakos’ ambitions and to continue shaping a career many believe is destined for greater heights.
