Nations FC head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso cut a frustrated figure after his side slipped to a narrow 1–0 defeat against Vision FC, insisting the outcome was harsh on his team after what he felt was a dominant display.

The Week 16 Ghana Premier League clash at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex was decided in dramatic fashion just before the break, when teenage midfielder Setsofia Aqetey struck deep into first-half stoppage time. The youngster kept his composure to slot home his first-ever goal for Vision FC, a moment that ultimately proved decisive in an otherwise closely contested encounter.

That solitary strike carried significant weight for the hosts. Vision FC not only snapped a frustrating seven-game winless streak, but also climbed out of the relegation zone, moving up to 12th place on 18 points, just one shy of Nations FC in the standings.

For Nations FC, however, it was another painful chapter in a season where strong performances away from home have failed to yield results. The Abrankese-based side controlled large periods of the match and fashioned several promising opportunities, but their lack of cutting edge in front of goal once again came back to haunt them. The defeat means they are still searching for their first away win of the campaign.

Speaking after the final whistle, Frimpong Manso made no attempt to hide his disappointment, arguing that the scoreline did not reflect the flow of the game.

“We didn’t deserve to lose this game,” he said to the press. “We did enough to at least secure a draw, if not all three points. We created the chances but couldn’t convert them, and we were punished for that. Truthfully, we shouldn’t have lost this game.”

Despite the setback, Nations FC remain 10th on the league table and will quickly turn their focus to bouncing back. They host Karela United in their next Ghana Premier League fixture, a match they will view as an opportunity to rediscover momentum and solidify their position as the season heads into its second half.
