Asante Kotoko finds itself in hot water after the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee slapped the club with formal charges following reports of harassment and threats directed at match officials during their tense Matchday 12 encounter with Medeama SC.

According to the GFA’s release, Kotoko is accused of failing to uphold matchday security standards, particularly during half-time, when individuals without clearance allegedly accessed Zone 2, a restricted area reserved for match officials.

Inside that zone, the officials are said to have encountered acts of intimidation and physical aggression, actions that the FA says violate the 2025 Enhanced Matchday Protocols.

The Kumasi giants have been instructed to submit their official defence by Wednesday, December 3, as the disciplinary process moves ahead.

These allegations stem from Sunday’s dramatic fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium, where Kotoko mounted a spirited late comeback to draw 2–2 with Medeama.
