Ghanaian attacker Bernard Tekpetey found the back of the net in a pulsating Bulgarian top-flight clash that saw Ludogorets Razgrad edged out 5–4 by CSKA 1948 Sofia in a match packed with drama and goals.

The high-octane encounter began in explosive fashion, with Mamadou Diallo firing the home side ahead in just the 3rd minute. Tekpetey responded swiftly, levelling the score seven minutes later with a well-taken effort that highlighted his sharp instincts inside the box.

But the league leaders were relentless. Elias Correa Franco restored CSKA’s advantage soon after, and Brian Sobrero extended the cushion five minutes before the interval as the hosts went into the break 3–1 up.

Things worsened for Ludogorets after the restart when Olivier Verdon inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, and Branislav Tsonev added a fifth to seemingly seal a comfortable win for CSKA.

However, the closing stages turned into a nerve-wracking finale. The visitors staged a remarkable late surge, Andre Hoffmann’s own goal and a brace from Ivaylo Chochev gave Ludogorets hope of a miraculous comeback. Chochev even had a chance to complete it from the penalty spot but failed to convert, leaving the Green Eagles agonizingly short at the final whistle.

Despite the defeat, Tekpetey’s early strike continued his fine run of form since recovering from a long-term injury, reaffirming his importance to the Ludogorets attack.
