Nations Football Club have parted company with head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle and his deputy Johnson Smith, bringing an abrupt end to their tenure after a disappointing run of form in the early stages of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The club confirmed the decision on Sunday evening, shortly after edging Techiman Eleven Wonders 3–2 in a tense encounter, a result that failed to mask the team’s deeper struggles.

“Nations FC have mutually parted ways with both Head Coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle and Assistant Coach Johnson Smith. We thank them for their service to the Club. The club will not make any further comment on this topic,” a statement posted on the club’s official X account read.

Despite securing victory in Techiman, the club’s hierarchy reportedly felt compelled to act following a sluggish start to the season. Nations FC have managed only two wins from their opening seven fixtures, alongside two draws and three losses, a return that has left the club well short of expectations.

Just a season ago, the Kumasi-based outfit came within touching distance of the Premier League title, but this term’s inconsistent performances have prompted a swift shake-up in the technical department.

The club is now expected to assemble a new coaching team in the coming days as they look to reignite their campaign and restore momentum in the league.
