Ghana captain Jordan Ayew was on the assist sheet on Tuesday night as Leicester City slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Hull City in the English Championship.

Ayew, who led the line for the Foxes alongside fellow Ghanaian Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, played from the start at the MKM Stadium but could not prevent his side from leaving empty-handed.

Hull took control of proceedings early on and were rewarded just six minutes into the game when Liam Millar finished off a neat move created by Joe Gelhardt. Leicester struggled to regain momentum, with their attack often breaking down before reaching the danger zone.

The hosts doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark as Gelhardt turned scorer, converting from Ryan Giles’ delivery to make it 2-0. Leicester appeared second-best for most of the first half, chasing shadows and failing to find their rhythm.

The Foxes finally found a response midway through the second period. Ayew produced a moment of composure and vision in the 67th minute, threading a precise pass for Aaron Ramsey, who calmly slotted home to pull one back for the visitors.

Despite renewed energy after the goal, Leicester could not find the equaliser and had to settle for a frustrating defeat on the road. Ayew’s assist brings his personal tally to one goal and one assist from 10 league appearances so far this season.
