Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank could not hide his delight after Mohammed Kudus finally opened his goal account for the club in Saturday’s 2-1 triumph over Leeds United at Elland Road.

The Ghanaian forward, a £55 million summer signing from West Ham United, delivered a decisive performance as Spurs extended their unbeaten Premier League run and brought an end to Leeds’ flawless home record.

Kudus played a starring role in both goals, first threading a perfectly weighted pass for Mathys Tel to notch his maiden strike of the season. Moments later, the 24-year-old capped off a fine individual display by rifling a precise effort into the bottom corner, restoring Tottenham’s lead after Noah Okafor had levelled for the hosts.

“It was about time, wasn’t it? We’ve got big expectations,” said Frank with a smile after the final whistle. “I’m so happy for Mo – he needed that goal. He’s been our best offensive player so far. You just see, he looked a little bit more fluid.”

The goal marks a significant milestone for Kudus, who has already been directly involved in four goals for Spurs this campaign. His confident display at Elland Road underlined why the North London club invested heavily in his talent.

Attention now turns to international duty, with Kudus set to link up with the Ghana national team ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying fixtures against the Central African Republic and Comoros later this month.

The Tottenham faithful will hope their new star carries his rediscovered spark onto the international stage, and brings that same rhythm back to North London when he returns.
