The clash, initially scheduled for the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl in Ilorin, will now take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. The shift comes as a result of ongoing renovation work at Kwara’s traditional home ground.
In a statement shared across the club’s official social media platforms, the Nigerian FA Cup holders explained:
“Due to ongoing renovations at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl, our CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round second leg match against Asante Kotoko of Ghana will now be played at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.”

The switch effectively places the match on neutral territory, a situation that could offer some psychological relief for the visiting Porcupine Warriors, who already hold a slim lead in the tie. Kotoko edged the first leg 4-3 in a thrilling contest played in Accra.
The aggregate winner of the fixture will secure passage to the next stage of the competition, where Moroccan powerhouse Wydad AC await.
