Ghanaian teenager Ali Umar has sealed a switch from Accra-based Semper Fi FC to Serbian topflight side OFK Beograd, in a transfer orchestrated by Roc Nation Sports, the global agency founded by music mogul Jay-Z.

The highly rated 18-year-old forward has committed to a two-year contract with an option for a further season, after the two clubs struck terms on a fee that remains undisclosed.

Umar has built a reputation as one of the brightest prospects in Ghana, having represented his country at U15, U17, and U20 levels. His sharp footwork, ability to glide across the front line, and knack for unlocking defenses made him a standout target for European scouts. Roc Nation stepped in to finalize the deal, opening the door to his first venture into professional football abroad.

For OFK Beograd, a club historically recognized for polishing raw talent and providing pathways to Europe’s elite leagues, the arrival of Umar fits perfectly into their philosophy. His development will be closely monitored as the Serbians look to mold him into their next export success.

Back in Ghana, Semper Fi FC praised their former player’s dedication and potential, expressing optimism that his Serbian adventure will accelerate his growth and spotlight Ghanaian football’s depth of talent.

Beyond the individual move, Umar’s transfer also signals Roc Nation’s deepening investment in African football. The agency has steadily expanded its portfolio of emerging stars from the continent, positioning itself as a major player in bridging African academies with the European stage.
